Built in 1831–32 for the influential Cloth-merchants’ guild, Drapers’ Hall stands on Bayley Lane in Coventry’s Cathedral Quarter. The current edifice replaced earlier halls on the same site, making it the third iteration of a building that symbolised the prosperity of the drapers’ trade in Coventry. Designed by architect Thomas Rickman in Greek-Revival style, the hall features a grand portico, decorative plaster ceilings and elegant interiors perfectly suited for its original purpose as a social and business hub for the guild.
